Volunteer tutors who assist with TLC’s adult or children’s programs are provided with comprehensive orientation, training and continual support from staff. A TLC volunteer may choose to tutor a child or an adult in either a one-to-one or small group setting.

Most importantly, TLC volunteers have the opportunity to make a difference!

TLC’s Board of Directors is made up of local community members who support literacy and promote lifelong learning. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings throughout the year. Board members are offered in depth orientation and training prior to their first official meeting.

Due to the nature of TLC’s programs, an in-depth screening process is performed for all potential volunteers, which includes completing an application, attending an interview, and obtaining a criminal and vulnerable sector check.
